Despite having no experience in rallycross, Timmy debuted in the 2012 Finnish round of the FIA European Rallycross Championship, finishing a creditable fifth, then entered the full 2013 ERC in a Citroën DS3 and with a confident mindset. “I’ve always raced where the hardest competition is because I love when something feels almost impossible,” says Timmy. “When you face those challenges you have to push yourself further and further every day, which makes you get to places you didn’t think you’d ever be capable of.”
Nine-time world rally champion – and rallycross debutant – Sébastien Loeb joined Timmy at Team Peugeot-Hansen for the 2016 season and the pair managed a win apiece and eight other podiums. They continued for 2017 alongside Timmy’s younger brother Kevin Hansen and in 2018 Timmy and Loeb picked up two podiums and sixth in the overall championship. That year also saw Timmy take the checkered flag at the inaugural Nitro Rallycross.
