By Charley Daniels | Aug. 23, 2019

For the second time in as many years a Hansen stood atop the podium when the dust settled on the Nitro Rallycross track. But this year, it was Kevin Hansen, the only driver in the NRX championship race who didn’t enter last year. His brother Timmy Hansen, last year’s champion, took third. In between them in the No. 2 spot was Patrik Sandell. Click here to watch the full broadcast, and read on for more details on the 2019 NRX event at Nitro World Games Utah.

*** Timmy Hansen will go down in the history books as the first-ever winner of an NRX race and the first-ever driver to make the podium multiple races in a row. With the brothers taking first and third, it was a family affair, but Sandell’s second-place finish also made it a national one — all three drivers are Swedish. Tanner Foust, Travis Pastrana, and Ken Block kept the championship race exciting, but in the end the three drivers from Sweden took home the trophies.
